Andrés Gomez Bravo
Colombian pianist Andrés Gómez Bravo leads a wide career as a soloist, collaborative pianist and teacher. He has performed in festivals and conferences around the world including presentations in Colombia, Finland, Sweden, Italy, Argentina, Canada and the United States, where he has performed in important concert halls like the Kennedy Center, Sibelius Academy, National Arts Center (Canada), Luis Angel Arango, Julio Mario Santo Domingo and the Teatro Metropolitano in Medellín.
Dr. Gomez received his BM from EAFIT University, his MA from Eastern Michigan University and his DMA from the Eastman School of Music. His main teachers were Lise Frank, Radostina Petkova, Joel Shoenhals, Rebecca Penneys and Blanca Uribe. He is a recipient of the Carolina Oramas Scholarship given by the Colombian Government. Dr. Gómez is currently head of the piano department at the EAFIT University and artistic director of the Fundación Música de Cámara de Medellín, dedicated to promotion of local artists.
